My first Solid Quality course is scheduled

If you’re in Melbourne during the last week of March and want to learn about how to effectively write queries for SQL Server, then this course is for you.

The course was written by Itzik Ben-Gan, who is one of the legends in the SQL Server world (and now my colleague!), so it’s a very high quality course. And of course, it’s not as if I’m new to the material myself, having been involved in helping people learn about T-SQL for many years myself. I’m really pleased that this is the first course I’ll be teaching under the banner of Solid Quality Learning, and if you want to join me in celebrating, then register soon!

  1. Well, this is very much an ‘intro’ course, but it actually covers a lot of quite advanced topics. If you look down the syllabus, you’ll see things like ranking functions, correlated subqueries, derived tables, CTEs, the OUTPUT clause, deadlocks, cursors, XQuery…

So you might find that it quickly ramps up to the kind of course you’re more interested in. Although… it’s not the Advanced T-SQL course, which goes far deeper into how to solve specific types of problems and suggests that you have a full year’s experience of writing queries before you take it on.

Why not give SolidQuality a call and discuss it with them? Explain that you’re concerned that it might be too basic, and see what they say.
